STANDING UP FOR SOMETHING

Many times I prefer not to be ostracized and so I really don't want to stand up for something.

But I can't. I have lost out a lot in my life by standing up. May be an artist cannot suppress true feelings.

REVIEW ON AMAZON OF MY SHORT STORY BOOK - A PEARL FROM EVERY OYSTER

Happy to share another review of my short story book ' A Pearl From Every Oyster'. This is from a very young reader. I am happy that young readers have been able to strike a chord with the book.

My daughter was one of the internal reviewers of this book and she had given me some very valid and strong points. One thing that we consciously did was to break the arrangement of stories as per a timeline of the protagonist. This was to ensure that the book was not branded as an autobiography. This went well with a few readers but a few others preferred having the stories as per a timeline.

DECIPHERING DREAMS - EXAMS STILL HAUNT ME

I was lying down on my bed yesterday night and thoughts about how should approach learning for my next certification exam had trickled through my mind. I had spent the day going through some materials for the same. These thoughts and actions had probably triggered what lay beneath in the subconscious mind.

When I was at school, there were instances when I had cried seeing a question paper or while waiting for the report card. It was not that I was a bad student. Even missing a mark was something I could not take casually.

Yesterday's dream was very much of the same colour. I had a pile of books in front of me and my anxiety level on how I could complete the portions for the upcoming exams was very high. I could see examiners chasing me through the exam hall for some reason that I could not understand. Was it to take the answer paper away from me because the allotted time was up? I don't know. I could see numbers and alphabets, all in big sizes and colours, adorning the walls of the exam hall. I could see two of my friends play with the numbers and letters. They were very casual.

And then came a teacher who took me in her arms and patted me and encouraged me. I woke up suddenly and found myself sitting on the bed. I wish I got over with the exams soon.
